What is an Electric Bike
An electric bike (e-Bike) is a bicycle fitted with a motor and battery that assist your pedalling. This makes climbing hills, commuting, or riding longer distances easier and less tiring.
Do I need a licence to ride an e-Bike?
No licence is required in the UK if your e-Bike meets EAPC (Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycle) regulations, meaning the motor is 250W or less and stops assisting at 15.5mph (25km/h). More powerful e-Bikes are classed as mopeds or motorcycles and must be registered, insured, and ridden with a valid licence. Always check local laws before use.
How fast can e-Bikes go?
UK-legal e-Bikes provide assistance up to 15.5mph (25km/h). After this, the motor cuts out, though you can pedal faster if you wish. Bikes with more than 250W of motor power or assistance beyond 15.5mph fall under moped/motorcycle regulations.

What is the shipping cost?
We offer free delivery on orders of £500 or more. For orders under £500, the shipping cost is £20. For more information, please refer to our Shipping Policy.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept a variety of payment methods, including American Express, Bitcoin, Apple Pay, Google Pay, MasterCard, PayPal, Shop Pay, and Visa.
How far can I ride on a single charge?
Range depends on the battery size, assistance level, terrain, rider weight, and riding style. On average, most e-Bikes achieve 50–100km per charge.
How long does it take to charge the battery?
Charging typically takes 3–5 hours, depending on battery capacity and charger type.
Can I ride an e-Bike in the rain?
Yes. Most e-Bikes are water-resistant and safe to ride in wet weather. Avoid submerging the bike in water, and dry it off after use to prolong its life.
What maintenance does an e-Bike need?
Maintenance is similar to a standard bicycle: check tyre pressures, lubricate the chain, and keep brakes in good condition. You should also keep the battery contacts clean and ensure software/firmware updates are applied when needed.
What happens if the battery runs out?
Your e-Bike will still function as a normal bicycle. You can continue riding without power, though it will require more effort. This makes it a reliable backup option if you run out of charge.
Is it secure to shop here?
Yes, your financial information is secure. All online purchases are made on an SSL-secured website. Once you place an order, your details are encrypted and securely forwarded to the credit card company for final clearance. We do not store your credit card information on our systems.
When can I expect my order to arrive?
We aim to ship orders within 48 hours (Monday to Saturday). If you haven’t received your order within 5 days of receiving your shipping confirmation, please contact us at info@topdogbikes.com with your full name and order number.
What if I entered the wrong address or details?
If you need to update your address or any other information, please email us at info@topdogbikes.com, and we will assist you in making the changes.
Can I get a refund if the product doesn't work or something goes wrong?
Please inspect your order upon receipt. If you receive a defective or damaged item or the wrong product, contact us immediately so we can assess the issue and resolve it. For more details, please refer to our Refund and Return Policy.
What is the warranty on TopDogBikes e-Bikes?
Most e-Bikes come with a manufacturer’s warranty covering the frame, motor, and battery for a set period. Check the warranty section on our website or your bike’s documentation for full details.
Can I cancel my order?
You can cancel or amend your order, or part of it, as long as the order hasn’t entered the dispatch process. If you cancel, you will receive a full refund, including postage, via your original payment method. If your order has been dispatched, you can refuse delivery, and the item will be returned to us as undeliverable. You will receive a refund for the item, though the cost of outward shipping will still apply
Can I come to the Shop for a Test Ride?
We do not have a physical Shop, we are online only. Our company address, is our offices only.
Can I exchange or return an item?
We do accept exchanges and they follow the same conditions as returns:
The item must have been sold on our online store.
The item shouldn’t have been used in any way.
The item should be in its original packaging with all the tags etc.
The return or exchange request is made within 14 days of delivery.
